Home Clean Heroes vs The Valley Clean Team: an honest Huntsville comparison

A franchise with a first-responder program and a per-home supply system, against a family business that puts its price and its checklist on the website. Everything we say about Home Clean Heroes was read from their Huntsville page on September 21, 2026.

Home Clean Heroes is one of the newer names in Huntsville cleaning, a Buzz Franchise Brands location run out of Madison, and it shows up in the same searches we do. If you are choosing between us, this is the comparison, written by us, with every fact about them dated to the day we read their page. Franchise pages change; the date tells you how much to trust ours.

It is not a hit piece. Their page describes two things most cleaning companies never bother to explain, a per-home supply system and a program that gives back to first responders, and both deserve credit. Some readers should book them. Here is how to tell.

The short version

Choose Home Clean Heroes if: you want a franchise with a clearly described hygiene practice (supplies packed separately for each home), you like that a share of what you pay supports local first responders through their Heroes First program, and you would rather fill in a short form and let them call you than pick up the phone.

Choose The Valley Clean Team if: you want the exact price for your home on one call, with the number we quote being the number we bill, the 44-item list and every fee published before you book, a Google review history of 156 reviews at 4.9 stars, and owners who answer the phone. Or you live in the Shoals, Mountain Brook or Nashville, where they are not local.

Where Home Clean Heroes wins

1. A hygiene practice they actually explain

Most cleaning companies say "professional supplies" and leave it there. Home Clean Heroes says something specific: supplies are packed individually for each home and organized according to the rooms being cleaned, so the kit that went through one house is not the kit that goes through yours. That is a real answer to a question worth asking, and they win credit for publishing it.

Here is why it matters. A microfiber cloth that wiped a bathroom counter and then a kitchen counter in someone else's house has carried whatever it picked up between the two, and a mop head does the same across floors. The industry's answers are fresh mop heads per home, cloths color-coded by room, and laundering that actually kills what the cloths collected. Whoever you hire, us included, ask how they handle those three things.

2. Heroes First

Their page says every home they clean supports local first responders through the brand's Heroes First initiative. We do not run a program like it. Our ownership is the closest thing: Todd is an Air Force veteran and the company is veteran- and woman-owned, which some customers care about and some do not. If a cleaning bill that gives something back to first responders is the deciding factor, that is their row.

3. A form instead of a phone call

Their homepage is built around a short form: name, address, zip, one-time or recurring, and a box to opt in to text updates. Fill it in, and they contact you. If you would rather never make the call, they have designed for you. We take the opposite bet, because the number is the point of the call, and we explain that below.

4. Franchise backing

Scheduling systems, hiring pipelines, backup staffing when a cleaner is out, and a brand above the local office. We are a family business, and the safety net of a national system is a fair reason to pick a franchise.

Where The Valley Clean Team wins

1. The number, on one call, and it holds

Call 256-826-1100 during business hours with your square footage, bedrooms and bathrooms, and you hang up with a flat price for your house. Whoever answers reads the same rate table, so it does not depend on who picked up, and nobody has to come out to look first. It is the number on your bill. It changes only if you add scope after the quote or the home was described differently than it is, and never because of what we find when we arrive.

A form that promises someone will contact you is a step before a price. Ours skips the step.

2. The list is published, and so are the fees

You can read our 44-item checklist room by room, next to the 57-item deep clean and the 50-item move-in/out list. You can also read the things that cost money before you book: 24 hours' notice to cancel, $100 for a late cancellation, no-show or lock-out, $25 per pet, and a $5–$15 travel fee where it applies. Their page publishes preferences you can state, not a list of what gets done or what it costs. That does not mean they upsell. It means you have to ask.

3. A deeper review history

Both companies are rated well. The difference is the size of the sample: 156 Google reviews at 4.9 stars for us, against 41 at 4.8 on Birdeye for their Huntsville office when we checked. A newer franchise office will grow that number. For now, if a long public record is what lets you hand over a key, the record is ours.

4. Deep cleaning with a published scope

A deep clean with us is 57 items from $276, and you can read what the extra 13 items are: cobwebs, door frames, reachable ceiling fans and vents, glass surfaces, hand-detailed baseboards, wet-wiped blinds. Their page advertises a seasonal deep clean without a scope, so ask for one in writing.

5. The owners answer, and the footprint is wider

Text or call and Todd or Christen reads it; texts get an answer in minutes during business hours and written quotes within 2 business hours. The trade-off: business hours, a small team, and jobs booked 2 to 3 days out. And where their list ends at Madison County, ours continues to Athens, Decatur, the Shoals, Mountain Brook and Nashville.

When to pick which

Recurring biweekly in Madison, Harvest or Toney

Both are local. Decide whether you want to state preferences and let them build the visit, or work from a published list. Then get both numbers for the same frequency.

You want the price tonight

Call us during business hours and you have it before you hang up. Their form starts a conversation; ours is not needed.

Someone in the house has allergies or a compromised immune system

Their per-home supply system is a legitimate advantage here, and you should ask them to walk you through it. Ask us the same questions about mop heads, cloths and laundering, and tell us about product sensitivities when you book; green products are available at no extra charge.

Move-out, including a PCS from Redstone

Our move-in/out clean is 50 items from $351, published so you can hold it against the inspection sheet. Whoever you pick, get what is included in writing before the walkthrough.

You are outside Madison County

Athens, Decatur, the Shoals, Mountain Brook, Nashville: we are local; their Huntsville page does not list them.

How to get started with either

Home Clean Heroes (Huntsville): call (256) 417-6380 or fill in the form at homecleanheroes.com/huntsville.

The Valley Clean Team: call 256-826-1100 with your square footage and bed and bath count and you will hang up with the price. Prefer to write? Send the details and you will have a written quote within 2 business hours.

Either way you end up with an insured, professional clean. We would just rather you choose on dated facts than on a slogan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Home Clean Heroes or The Valley Clean Team cheaper in Huntsville?

Home Clean Heroes describes its service as affordable custom cleaning, but its Huntsville page publishes no prices; you fill in a zip-code form and they contact you. We publish starting prices (regular cleaning from $200, deep cleaning from $276, move-in/out from $351) and quote the exact flat price for your home on one call. Get both numbers for the same rooms and the same frequency before you decide which is cheaper for your house.

What is Home Clean Heroes' cross-contamination system?

Their page says supplies are packed individually for each home and organized by the rooms being cleaned, so cloths and tools from one house do not travel into the next. It is a specific, well-described hygiene practice and a fair reason to consider them. Whoever you hire, ask the same question: what stops the mop that finished the last bathroom from starting in my kitchen?

Do both companies guarantee their work?

Home Clean Heroes' Huntsville page lists a satisfaction guarantee without publishing the terms, so ask what the window is and what a re-clean covers. Ours is published: tell us within 24 hours and we come back and fix it at no charge.

Is Home Clean Heroes a local company?

It is a franchise. Home Clean Heroes is a Buzz Franchise Brands company, and the Huntsville location is a locally operated office based in Madison. The Valley Clean Team is independent and family-owned: Todd, an Air Force veteran, and Christen, and one of them answers the phone.

Which company serves my area?

Home Clean Heroes' Huntsville page lists Toney, Harvest, Madison, Hazel Green, Meridianville, Huntsville, New Market, South Huntsville, Gurley and Owens Cross Roads. We serve Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Decatur, the Shoals (Florence, Muscle Shoals, Tuscumbia and Sheffield), Mountain Brook and Birmingham, and Nashville. Both cover the Madison County core; outside it, check the zip code with whichever company you are leaning toward.

Do either of you require a contract?

No. Home Clean Heroes advertises no contracts, and so do we. The difference is what is published around that promise: our cancellation policy (24 hours' notice, $100 for a late cancellation, no-show or lock-out), pet fee and travel fee are all on the site before you book.
